What it is About:
Take control of your thoughts and you can take back control from anxiety, panic and fear and carve out the path to the life you deserve. You do this with mindful love, kindness, compassion, understanding and forgiving self-care.
The exercises and affirmations, meditative techniques and other resources are centered in the concept of mindfulness in the treatment of anxiety based or trauma disorders. However symptoms that come with that diagnosis present in the same way as generalized anxiety, panic disorder and depression. Therefore the concepts I present here apply to any disorder that produces stress, anxiety, intrusive nvm thoughts, suicidal ideation, self-esteem issues, depression, or delusional or irrational thinking that influences actions and behaviors.
My theories center on the powerful influence your thoughts have on the quality of your life and the direction you are heading. I frame this concept within the gentle approach of mindfulness and the adaptation of self-compassion, kindness and self-care. Mindful awareness of yourself, your thoughts and your feelings can promote healing and change the way your brain handles stress so that your symptoms diminish and you bring about impactful change. This is all done by embracing the concept of self-directed care of your symptoms by living and centering yourself in the present moment, in the time and space you currently occupy. It relieves you of the regret and pain from yesterday and frees you from the fear and anxiety of tomorrow. We only have the present moment in our control. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is an unknown. Harness your thoughts in the present and take back control of your own mind.
We are facing a world-wide crisis and there doesn’t seem to be any control to be found while we quarantine and live without any sense of normalcy. We are isolated and sometimes too much alone time is too much for our thoughts and we can end up overthinking, catastrophizing and feeling anxious and panicky from the lack of control of our immediate environment. Anxiety and stress can be overpowering and affect our daily ability to function. It's easy to fall into a routine of sleeping too much, binge watching TV and never getting dressed. It’s important to keep in contact with others - especially those we trust. They can be lifelines. But we must also practice self-care to ensure our own mental and physical wellbeing. Because of this risk I am bringing the self-care portions of my book to this guide and I hope that you can get some value from the information to help you through this tough time. Stay strong, stay vigilant and stay safe.
