Epic Battle Going Down
Busy streets, busy people all rushing by
Unhappy faces looking tired and worn
People with somewhere to be and
problems pressing on their mind,
Questions that have to be answered,
Regrets for things not yet done
Stress from all that happened yesterday
Worry about what is happening tomorrow.
All just fighting a battle
A state of chaos swirling heavily
The winds of racing thoughts and bad feelings
Churning from a mental state we know to be
WHAT WAS and WHAT IS YET TO BE
But this duo can be tamed by another,
The most powerful one of them all.
The chaotic winds would dissipate
By the beauty of it all
That mighty power is a force we know to be
It is the WHAT IS and it beats the WHAT WAS and WHAT IS YET TO BE
IT STOPS to reminds us
The past is long gone.
Nothing we can do to change that.
And the future is tomorrow.
Nothing we can do there either
All we all have is RIGHT NOW.
Right now is our WHAT IS
The present MOMENT
and we find it MINDFULLY
It’s the CURRENT date and time and space we currently occupy
In the present and it’s all that really matters
Mindfulness is your freedom
Releases you from chains and all the shackles
Freeing you from the painful WHAT WAS
and the even more ominous YET TO BE
Be FREE from stress of things you cannot change
Be FREE from worry of things you cannot control
Be FREE to appreciate the life you live in right now.
Walk mindfully with focus
And attention all around
Notice the little things you’ve been missing
SEE the sky in it’s perfect shade of blue
BREATHE the fresh air to energize
LISTEN to the soulful bellow of a train
SMELL the sweet scent of nectar
NOTICE your light and airy bounce
USE the energy from your spirit
SHARE a smile people passing by
FEEL thankful for this moment
BE happy when you see the GOOD
GOOD is in all around us in EVERYTHING
Empower yourself
Free yourself
Reward yourself.
Live in the WHAT IS and you’ll be happy
